Zach Harter

I am a D.O./Ph.D. student in my first year of graduate studies. As the newest doctoral member of the Vassar Research Team, I look forward to the adventures ahead of me—fruitful interdisciplinary collaborations and selecting my dissertation topic. Although I’m undecided on a clinical specialty, I’m interested in pediatric ophthalmology, pulmonary medicine, neurology, and transplant surgery. My research interests include research design and methods, statistical analysis, meta-research, and patient-centered outcomes research. Implementing academic research to improve health care policy and decision making also appeals to me.

My wife Kara and I have two amazing dogs—Lola and Penny. We like relaxing with them at home and taking them to the dog park. When we have a free weekend, Kara and I enjoy touring wineries, painting and drawing, visiting the local zoo, and traveling, especially to the beach.
